Together Again
Clarence Alvin Butch Crater, 92, died July 29, 2013 of natural causes at the Legacy House in Ogden, Utah. He was born on the 7th of September 1920 in Royalton, Pa. to Elmer Dennis and Goldie Mae Crater nee Myers. He attended Middletown School District. He married Jean Marie Evans on November 11, 1942. She preceded him in death. He served in the United States Army Air Corps in WWII. Following his service he was employed by the Department of Defense as a civilian employee at Olmsted Air Force Base, Pa. eventually retiring at Hill Air Force Base, Ut. He was a past Commander of the Knights of Columbus, a Master Mason, 32 degree Scottish Rite, Tall Cedars of Lebanon and the Zembo Shrine in Harrisburg, Pa. He enjoyed traveling and collected coffee cups from all of the states as he visited them. He and Jean also visited Canada, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand and India. He is survived by his children John (Barbara) of Roy, Ut. and daughter Sarah (Bruce) Schwab of Pinedale, Wy. He was proud of his 5 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, one of which preceded him in death, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Per his request there will be no public viewing or funeral. A private family ceremony will be held at a later date. If you so wish, Butch has asked that you make a donation to the Shriners Hospital for Children in his memory.
