Clarence Doxey Swaner's Obituary

Clarence Doxey (Clix) Swaner, 93, passed away October 9, 2018 surrounded by family. He was born February 11, 1925, to Clarence A. and Dora Doxey Swaner in Ogden, Utah where he lived his entire life. He has a sister, Phyllis Swaner Thon. Clix graduated from Ogden High School, Weber State College, University of Utah and Utah State University with his finale degree a PhD in Psychology. He worked professionally at the McKay-Dee Hospital before opening his own private practice. He served in the US Army during WWII in the 288 Field Artillery Division where he participated in maneuvers in England and Germany. He married Joan Krumperman on July 9, 1947, in the Logan Temple. They were married 62 years and raised four children: Brad Lee (Betty) Swaner, Craig K. (Judy) Swaner, Julie (Artie) Pietschman and Jeff D. (Karen) Swaner. Clix has 10 grandchildren: Lora (Greg) Flitton, Marie (Daniel) Hall, Shannon (Mark) Anderegg, Lisa Eckberg, Natalie Swaner, Austin (Katrin) Pietschman, Krista (Sam) Gill, Brandon (Dayna) Swaner, Ben (Michelle) Swaner and Jessica (TJ) Eck. He has 20 great-grandchildren. His was preceded in death by both his parents, wife Joan, son Brad, great-grandson Cullen Gill, and daughter-in-law Kathy Jones Swaner. Dad lived a long and full life. His interests always revolved around and included his family. His hands were never idle and his generosity limitless. We all enjoyed his love of the outdoors and silver-smithing. He was a High Priest and active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. IT WAS FUN TO BE WITH YOU! Services will be held at Leavitts Mortuary Monday, October 15, 2018, at 11:00 am. Viewings on Sunday, October 14, 2018, from 6:00 8:00 pm and Monday, October 15, 2018, from 9:45 10:45 am. Interment to follow at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park.
