Clarence G. Thornhill, 89, passed away July 23, 2016. Clarence was born March 4, 1927 to Clarence and Avis Thornhill in Frankclay, Missouri. He married Melba I. Thornhill on December 31, 1945 in Potosi, Missouri. Clarence was a 32 Mason and was very active in the Masonic Order. He was past Worshipful Master of Unity Lodge #18, Past Patron of Miriam Chapter #14, and was a member of the Scottish Rite and Shriners. Clarence dedicated many hours researching Masonry and donated all his research and hundreds of books to the Grand Lodge of Utah of Free Masons. Clarence also began a Masonic Book Club at the Ogden Masonic Temple. Clarence retired after many years of dedicated employment with the Union Pacific Railroad. Clarence served with the Merchant Marines. Clarence is survived by three sons, Jeffry A. (Gwen), David P. (Tonja) and Daniel J. (Carol); four grandchildren, Brian (Holly) Thornhill, Tara Thornhill Smith (Michael), Macon Thornhill Harris (Brandon) and Jacob Thornhill; and five great- grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Melba; his parents and siblings. Private Family Services were held. Interment at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah.
