Claudia Alkema Ligori Passed away at the age of 74, on December 17, 2022, surrounded by her family.
Claudia was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. She was born on September 6, 1948, to Lloyd and Irene Alkema. Claudia graduated from Ben Lomond High School. After school she would go to work with her dad at Joe Home Bakery; That's where she met the love of her life: Ted Ligori. Claudia and Ted were married in St Joseph Church for 54 years. She had two beautiful daughters: Stephanie and Jennifer.
Claudia loved to go shopping with her sister Anna. She was always walking around the neighborhood, talking, and making lots of friends. Claudia loved to crochet blankets for family and friends. She also had an extensive collection of Nutcrackers from all over. At Christmas time she would decorate and place them all over the mantle and the table by the front door. Claudia would take in stray cats from the neighborhood due to her loving heart. She never drove, and always took the bus. And was kind to everyone she met.
Claudia is preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Irene Alkema, sister Anna Rowley and her in-laws Dominic and Rose Ligori.
Claudia is survived by her husband Diodori (Ted) Ligori, her two daughters Stephanie Ligori, and Jennifer, and her husband Brian Daniel Lloyd. Her grandchildren Brittany and Daniel. Her sister Joy Alkmena and brother Joe Alkema. Her brothers and sisters-in-law: Dickey and Josie Ligori, Joe and Sue Ligori, and Tony and Georgia Ligori. And many nieces and nephews.
We would like to thank Elevation Hospice for the excellent care they gave mom. Especially Cindy, her aide: she loved to see her. Cindy was so kind and gentle with Claudia. Jacoy the nurse helped us with everything right up to the end. And her best friend Bonnie helped Claudia so much, and never failed to make her smile and laugh.
There will be no services at this time. A celebration of life will be held at a later date, in the spring for the family.
Mom, you will be missed and be loved always, Ted, Stephanie, Jennifer, Brian, Brittany, and Daniel.
