Cleo Kit Gibson Linford, 87, passed away September 12, 2015 in Ogden, Utah. She was born September 4, 1928 to Eugene W. and Henrietta Gibson in Salt Lake City, Utah. She graduated from West High School in Salt Lake City and from Weber State College in Ogden. She was also a convert to the LDS Church. She married Dale H. Linford on August 4, 1945 and their marriage was sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. A devout Democrat all her life, she was the first Democratic County Chairwoman in Utah and held many other positions in the party. She was an accomplished artist, published author, painter, playwright, drama director and adjunct professor at Weber State College. Kit is survived by her children: D.E. Lindy Linford (Karlene), Karin J. Linford, Karol J. Phipps (Jerry), Bob Linford (Cindy), Joseph G.Linford (Rebecca), Jeffry G. Linford (Donna); 23 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; 11 great- great grandchildren and six great, great, great, grandchildren. Kit is preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband, Dale; her brothers Eugene and Bobby. Funeral Services will be held at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th St., Ogden, UT on Friday, September 18, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. with a viewing at the same location on Thursday, September 17, 2015 from 6:00 8:00 p.m. and prior to the Funeral Service from 1:00 1:45 p.m. Interment at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th St., Ogden, UT.
