Craig Ferris KennedyCraig F. Kennedy of North Ogden passed away on May 7th 2012 at the age of 64. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, Ferris C. Kennedy and Florence Alkema Kennedy. Craig is survived by his brother and sister-in law, Gary and Allana Kennedy of Danville California and his nephew Connor Kennedy.Craig grew up and attended Ogden City schools as a child. In college, Craig earned three undergraduate degrees from the University of Utah. He graduated with his MBA from Utah State and furthered his education at Westminster College in Salt Lake City by earning his CPA.During his college years Craig had several summer jobs. He worked for the U.S. Forest Service as a laborer and Forest Fire Fighter. He also spent several summers as a surveyor for the Bureau of Land Management. Additionally Craig was an excellent tennis player and avid snow skier.After earning his MBA, Craig went to work for the Ford Motor Company in Michigan as a financial analyst. He later went on to work for Abbot Labs in Salt Lake City. Craig was most recently employed by the State of Utah Dept. of Financial Institutions as a Senior Bank Examiner. He audited banks and credit unions for the State for 25 years. Craig commented several times that he really enjoyed his work and the people he worked with. In his early twenties, Craig served as a medic in the Utah National Guard 19th Special Forces Group (Airborne) for 6 years. His extensive home library included books on various subjects such as business, history, the classics and military events. Craigs other interests were golfing and fishing and he traveled extensively through Europe and the United States. He particularly enjoyed his trip to Nova Scotia where his mother and he took in the sights. Craig was also a connoisseur of French wine and liked a glass while dining on his many travels.While Craig was unable to travel in recent years, he continued to explore the world and experience the activities he enjoyed through his reading. For all who knew Craig, we would all agree that he was the most "well read" person that we had ever known.While Craig didnt have a big circle of friends the ones he did have ran deep. A private gathering of his closest friends will be held in Craigs honor as a brother, friend, cousin and uncle. The family wishes to thank Joyleen, Jeanie, Randy, Robyn and Mike. Craig requested to be cremated and his ashes scattered.Rest in Peace Craig; hope you catch a big fish!
