Cynthia Cindy J. Stroheker was born November 30, 1935 in Boston, Massachusetts to Nuel and Sylvia Flagg Stroheker. Cynthia was a fiercely independent soul who lived her life on her own terms. She passed away peacefully at Rocky Mountain Care Center August 24, 2016 after a prolonged illness. While attending New Gloucester High School, Cindy enjoyed working at Hodgemans Frozen Custard Stand. Cynthia joined USAF in 1957 and enjoyed traveling the world including Japan, Philippines and touring extensively through Europe collecting memorabilia along the way. During this period of her life she participated in sports, especially enjoying bowling and tennis. Cynthia retired from the USAF in 1975 after nearly 22 years of service as a Master Sergeant. She was a member of the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 14 in Davis County. Cynthia joined the team at Century 21 Golden Spike Realty and was a successful Real Estate Agent retiring in 1993. Later in life, Cindy had a passion for the casino and was a frequent flyer at the Casino Wendover manning many of the penny slot machines at a time. Cynthia is survived by her brother, Nuel G. Stroheker Jr.; nieces, Deborah Nuemiester and Louella Hood; nephew, Ricky Hood as well as her dear friends and caregivers, Sharon and Darrell Kouri, who helped her through difficult times. She is welcomed and reunited to her Heavenly Home by her loving sister, Sylvia Hood Folkenroth who passed away July 20, 2016. She will be greatly missed.
