Daniel Albert Everett, age 75 of South Weber, Utah was born in Gooding, Idaho on July 17, 1951, to Dennie and Bernice Everett as the fifth of six children. Dan passed away September 25, 2026.

Dan graduated from Shoshone High School, attended the University of Idaho for two years and then joined the Navy, serving in the Mediterranean Sea on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt during the Vietnam War. Following his release from the military, Dan attended Boise State University where he received his bachelor’s degree. This is also where he met his wife, Donna Jean Laird. They were married June 12, 1976, in Weiser, Idaho, and recently celebrated their 50th anniversary.

Dan and Donna had three children, Brandi Lee (deceased at birth), Samantha (Chris Quirante), and Shannon (Daniel Combe); and five grandchildren, Brooklyn Quirante, and Lillianna, Arabella, Evalina, and Cordelia Combe. Dan’s family was his highest honor; he was always putting their needs above his own.

Dan had a difficult youth, accentuated by alcohol, which followed him until his mid-thirties when he discovered the AA program, where he found a new family. They were there to help him turn his life around, resulting in 42 years of sobriety, which Dan protected proudly. Dan understood that youth need stability in their lives and helped others whenever possible.

Although Dan had many work opportunities in his life, his most important job was to care for his family. He attended the girls’ activities and loved to take the family camping, on road trips, fishing, sporting events and golfing. Dan loved football and was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. During football season he loved spending Sundays watching football with his daughter, Samantha.

Dan was a proud member of the Granite Threshing Bee. After moving to Utah, he thought his time with them was finished. However, many additional years were spent there. He enjoyed returning every year to continue to join in the annual Granite Threshing Bee events.

Dan was one of the core members of Redemption North Davis church, and it was his honor to watch it grow. He liked to greet everyone as they entered and left the church.

Dan was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Dennis and Bruce; a sister, Kathy; a daughter, Brandi; and a nephew, Gavin. Dan is survived by his wife Donna; his children and grandchildren; a sister, Robin; and a brother, Ted.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 3rd, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Redemption North Davis Church, 858 W 360 N, Kaysville, UT. Flowers may be delivered to Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah, up to the afternoon of Friday, October 2nd to be in time for services. In honor of Dan, donations can also be made to Granite Threshing Bee, Redemption North Davis, or another charity of your choice.
