Danny Draney, husband, father, and grandfather (Papa), passed away on September 17, 2023. He was born on September 24, 1948, to Willard Eugene Draney and Jennie Brown Draney in Ogden, Utah. He was one of eight children, living in Washington Terrace, Utah, most of their lives. He attended Weber County Schools, graduating from Bonneville High School in Washington Terrace. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Anita Cabrales Nistler, whom he married on August 23, 1967. Together they loved and raised their three children, Brandon (Tina) Draney, Darren (Jen) Draney, and Mary Ann Nistler. They love and adore their seven grandchildren and one great grandson. Danny was a sales representative for a manufacturing business and was self-employed for many years prior to his death. Several years before his death, he had various health issues which he struggled with. However, he always kept a positive outlook on life. Danny loved to talk and converse about any subject anyone wanted to discuss with him, whether on the phone, in person, Facebook, email, or texting. Some of the grandchildren related stories of sitting in the hot tub with Papa and listening to his stories which they loved to hear about. When his health was still good, he loved to go to Pete's Cafe and visit with friends and have great conversations there. He loved the mountains that overlooked Ogden and often commented on how beautiful they are, and never to take their beauty and grandeur for granted. Danny's cremains will be taken to the mountains where he would love to rest. Danny was preceded in death by three sisters, Jeanine Mauer, Rochelle McQuade, Annabelle Chip, and his twin brother Mike Draney who he had a special bond with. He is survived by sisters Sharon Hicks, Pam Oliveras, and brother Lewis Shane Draney. A Celebration of life will be held at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah, on October 15, 2023, from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.
