Daphne Elizabeth Lumley Tulane passed away on January 9, 2016 at Manor Care after a long, courageous battle with multiple health issues. She was born September 28, 1936, the first born daughter to Clyde O. Lumley and Agnes Graham Lumley in Douglas, Georgia. After a few years in Douglas, they moved back to Wrightsville where she was educated, graduating from Wrightsville High School in 1954. She graduated from Andrew College in Cuthbert, GA in 1956 with an Associates Degree. She moved to Atlanta and worked with Workmens Compensation of Georgia for six years and Colonial Pipeline for two years. Daphne married Leslie Stewart Tulane on May 3, 1962. They moved to St. Louis, MI for three months and returned to Atlanta. In 1967, Les and Daphne moved to Ogden, UT where they had three children. Daphne went to work at Browning Arms in Mountain Green, UT in 1974 as a secretary and eventually moved up to a Credit Manager. She also worked for the IRS from 1989-1994, and then went back to Browning retiring in 1999. She was the Secretary of the Ballet West, when Maye Baggs was President. Involved in Jr. League, enjoyed Friday Morning Bowling League at Hilltop; even bowled while pregnant with each kid and was past President of FMBL. Daphne enjoyed sewing, gardening, crocheting, crossword puzzles, reading, traveling, and window shopping with Kimberley and was an avid supporter of all the sports and activities her children were involved in. She is survived by Scott (Teri), OK; Todd (Alicen), TX; and Kimberley (Michael Kim Turner), UT. Grandchildren: Sara, Molly, Emily, Shaylee, Keely Tulane and Michael Turner. Additionally, two step-grandchildren, three step-great-grandchildren, sister Betty (Otis), sister-in-law Glenda (Paul), Aunt Nellie (Bryant), numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, one granddaughter (Katelyn) and three grandsons (Johnathan, Garrett, Alexander). The family would like to thank Manor Care for the love and care they have given to Daphne for the last eight years especially Nurse Kathy, Betty, Kelly and CNAs AJ, Alberto, Josie, and Lacy especially in her final hours. A Viewing will be on Thursday January 21, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, UT. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, January 22, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Ogden Pleasant Valley Stake Center, 5640 S. 850 E., South Ogden, UT. Friends may visit with the family prior to services from 9:00 to 10:45 am. Her final resting place will be in Georgia. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to help cover funeral expenses or Manor Care or to the Kidney Foundation in behalf of Daphne Tulane.
