It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Darrell. He was born in Auburn, Wyoming and passed away peacefully at his home with family at his side. Darrell graduated from Ogden High School in 1950 and attended Weber State University. He married Barbara Ann Child on September 6, 1950. He joined the U.S. Army in February 1952, and was a veteran of the Korean War, serving his country with valor and pride. Darrell worked as a salesman for Continental Bakery until his retirement. He was a friend to all, a hard-working man of great integrity and compassion. Darrell was loved by anyone who met him and will be deeply missed. Thanks, dad, for being the greatest example in my life. We are all blessed for having you in ours. He is survived by his wife, Barbara; son, Barrey; granddaughter Angie Wilder (Robbie); grandson Jake Bigler; great-granddaughter Brooklyn Wilder; brother-in-law Verl Child (Carol); sister-in-law Suzanne Wayment; brother-in-law Robert Child (Gale) and numerous family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Merlin R. and Nola P. Bigler; brother R. Blake Bigler; brother-in-law Dean Hart; brother-in-law Val Wayment and sister-in-law Shanda Hart. In lieu of flowers, please donate to your favorite charity in Darrells honor. The family would like extend a special thanks to Dr. John Hemmersmeier, the amazing staff of Access Health, and special friends Rich and ADonna Aeschilmann. The family will meet with friends on Friday, January 8, 2016 from 12:45pm 1:45 pm at Leavitt Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah with a short service at 2:00pm, followed by an interment at Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd, Ogden Utah. Darrell will be buried with military honors.
