David Harbert of Redwood City, California passed away peacefully on October 28, 2016 after a short but valiant battle with cancer.
David is survived by his partner, Mark Tada; parents, Betty and Jack Harbert, Riverdale, Utah; brother, John (Angie) Harbert, North Ogden, Utah; nephew, Nicolas Harbert, Bountiful, Utah; niece, Chelsea Harbert, Salt Lake City, Utah and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
David was a native of Pueblo, Colorado and a graduate of South High School. He was an Eagle Scout and Marine Corp Vietnam Veteran where he was awarded a Purple Heart.
In 1980 he moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where he was a U.S. Park Service Ranger and worked in the auto sales business before his retirement.
Davids passions included books, coffee and vintage clothing, especially hats. He enjoyed traveling, including road trips throughout the southwest. He was a positive, generous, outgoing person and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
A Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held Friday, November 18, 2016 at 11:00 am at Leavitts Mortuary & Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah.
Interment will be at a later date in Colorado.
