David Clair Uhrey, age 65, returned to his Heavenly Father on January 17, 2024, after a short illness. David was born August 3, 1958, in Palo Alto, California. He was the fourth child of Robert Lee Uhrey and Donna Lou Longfellow.

David grew up in Sunnyvale, California, then moved to Ogden, UT with his family, and attended Ben Lomond High School.

David served a full-time LDS mission in the Canada, Montreal mission, becoming fluent in French.

He attended Weber State College, and received his Bachelor's of Science Degree in Computer Science, graduating with high honors. David married Kimm Perkins in 1983 in Ogden, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. They were blessed with four children during their marriage. They were later divorced. David then married Samantha Pexton in Ogden, UT. They were later divorced.

David worked and retired from Wonder Bread Bakery in Ogden, Utah. He then worked for Yellow Cab and developed many friendships throughout his work life.

David was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and held several callings, including in the Elder's Quorum Presidency. One of his passions was working on Temple and Family History work. He had a great love for this work and we are confident that he is having a joyful reunion with many ancestors who have passed.

David loved the outdoors. He was an avid snow and water skier, motorcycle rider and loved camping. He was a certified scuba diver and traveled to many locations to dive. He was a coin collector. David was a kind and gentle soul and so loved by his family and friends.

David is survived by his children, Justin Uhrey, Kristin Uhrey (Michael Gonzolas), Tiffanie Nebeker, and Alison Uhrey, his siblings, Vikki Watts, Marc (Lanae) Uhrey, Debbie (Bob) Tolton, Susan (Dennis) Poulsen, and four grandchildren, Dezanay, and Mikah, Taje, and Eyan. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Scheid, and both parents.

Graveside services will be held on January 23, 2023 at 11:00 am at Leavitt's Cemetery at 836 36th Street in Ogden, Utah. A celebration of life will follow at the LDS Church at 1954 East Antelope, Layton, Utah, 84040 at 12:30 pm.
