Deanna Darlene Nielsen, 78, passed away Friday, October 30, 2015, losing a long, courageous battle to complications precipitated by brain cancer. Deanna was born on July 30, 1937, in Montello, Nevada to Nellie DeHeer and Delmore Baird. As a young woman, Deanna was a resident of Ogden, Utah where she worked as a sales clerk for Thrifty Drug Store. Her customers adored her and often chatted with her while they shopped. She married Robert L. Brady Bob they were later divorced. Later she married Boyd J. Nielsen and moved to Arizona where she continued to work for Thrifty Drug. Deanna cared for Boyd during his long fight against a recurring brain tumor until he passed away. Eventually, she moved back to Ogden to be near her mother, where she worked for Wangsgards Market until she retired at 70 years old. Deanna had a heart of gold, who accepted people for who they were. She was vivacious, passionate, caring, and tenacious. She was a giving person who expected nothing in return. During her younger years, she enjoyed camping, family picnics, bowling, dancing, gardening, and having fun with family and friends. She loved animals, especially dogs, and treasured time spent with her Maltese companion Precious Grace. Despite the difficulties she faced throughout her life, she was always kind hearted and respectful. She remained internally hopeful and was a fighter to the end. Deanna is survived by daughter Julie A. Dolan (Brady), son Timothy J. Nielsen, daughter-in-law DeAnn, seven grandchildren, Ashley, Jimmy, Kayla, Brodey, Matthew, Lance, and Logan, and three great grandchildren, Aiyanna Yanna, Aidence AJ and MaCayla. She is also survived by sister-in-law Danene, nephew Bruce, nieces Shureen and MiLauna, two grand-nieces ,four grand-nephews, uncle Bobby and aunt Marlene. She is preceded in death by her husband Boyd, former husband Bob, her parents, brother Denny, and nephew Lon. Family and friends will always remember Deanna for her beauty, inside and out, her courage, and her big, beautiful smile that would radiate the room. Many thanks to everyone who helped and supported her during her difficult journey, including cousin Georgia, Bobby, Marlene, Danene, friends Midge and Meredith, and the caregivers at Crestwood Care Center.
