Debra Gay Perkins, age 60 passed away July 15, 2013 surrounded by her loved ones due to complications from a two year battle with pancreatic cancer. She was born March 7, 1953 to Loa Frazier and Desmond Perkins in Pocatello Idaho. Debbie graduated from West High School. She married Brent Hermansen in Salt Lake City, Utah in 1970, together they had 2 children, Shane and Jennifer. They were later divorced.
Debbie was an executive secretary for GTE and TRW. She was a member of the LDS church. One of her favorite places was boating at Pineview Reservoir. Her hobbies were beading, crocheting, porcelain crafts and floral arrangements. Next to her children and grandchildren, her greatest joy came from her dogs, whom she loved dearly and treated like royalty. Debbie was a very beautiful woman inside and out who had a great zest for life and a wonderful sense of humor. She will be remembered most for her big heart.
Debbie is survived by her daughter, Jennifer France (Jared) of Layton, Utah; 3 wonderful grandchildren, Trent Snyder, Katie and Keira France; 3 sisters, Vicki Pasqua (Dino), Cindy Moyes (Rod) and Kelly Park; 2 brothers, Desmond Perkins and Monte Headstrom, as well as her stepmom, Pat Denton.
She was preceded in death by her son, Shane Hermansen, her parents, grandparents and her sister Darla Barnhard.
Funeral services will be held on Monday July 22, 2013 at Leavitts Mortuary 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah at 11:00 a.m. There will be a viewing prior to services from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. Cremation will be under the direction of Leavitts Mortuary.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made at America First Credit Union under the Debra Perkins memorial fund.
