Obituary

Dellene P Hill, 76, of Ogden, UT passed away peacefully on 3/1/2025 due to cancer complications. She passed with her husband and favorite son at her side.

Dellene was born on 8/28/48 to parents LaDell and Shelba Steadman in West Jordan, UT. After graduating from Bingham High School, Dellene moved to Ogden, UT to study Child Development at then Weber State College, where she obtained her bachelor's degree. While attending Weber State she met what she called a "farm boy" which she told her friends was too wild for her.

On October 2nd, 1975, she married Gary Hill (farm boy) at the Salt Lake City LDS temple. She spent the rest of her life with Gary in Ogden, UT. Dellene and Gary went on to have one child, Wyatt (Holly). Dellene was/is looking forward to celebrating her 50th wedding anniversary this October.

Dellene retired in 1998 after working for 32 years as a supervisor for Mt. Bell, US West and Qwest. Dellene never quit working; she volunteered for the American Red Cross and worked multiple years as a 6th grade elementary school teacher at Hillcrest Elementary. Dellene held multiple positions in her church, she was a scout leader, and a proud member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers. Dellene also served a two-year service mission with the love of her life Gary at the LDS Peach Orchard in Pleasant View, UT. Even after death Dellene continued to serve donating her organs to medical research to assist patients going forward.

Dellene's most important work was being a grandmother to her two grandchildren Carson and Porter, in which she accomplished flawlessly. In the time when she was not providing service for others, Dellene enjoyed going to movies, rodeos, knitting, and was an avid Raptor's baseball fan with Gary in tow.

Dellene was predeceased by her father Ladell Steadman, and her brother Drue Steadman. She is survived by her husband Gary, mother Shelba Steadman, brother Val Steadman (Marilyn), sister Lillian Rabatin (Dale), sister Lanell Wright (Charley), sister Jalayne Stewart (Gary), sister-in-law Sue Steadman, and son Wyatt (Holly), and her special grandchildren Carson and Porter.

Services will be held at Leavitt's Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden UT on Monday March 10th, 2025, at 10:00 am followed by a graveside service at Myers Evergreen Memorial Park, 100 N Monroe Blvd, Ogden UT.
