Obituary

Delon Vincent Ottley2-23-1960 ~ 11-2-2011Delon passed away suddenly after a lifetime struggle with the effects of mental illness. At 17, while Delon was in Amien, France, planning for a year of study in Paris, his life was altered forever by the onset of Bipolar Disorder. The initial episode was followed by a lifetime of emergencies, hospitalizations and surgeries. Despite a life of struggle, Delon demonstrated empathy, humility, kindness and determination. He loved life and always looked forward to new experiences, new challenges and new friends. He enjoyed family dinners, fishing and all kinds of parties and get-togethers. He gave his entire family and each of his close friends a unique gift of insight. His efforts were also supported by Dr. Harry Senekjian, Angela Krahulec, PAAG, NAMI, the staffs of Weber County Mental Health, Manor Care, Beehive House (Roy), Peachtree (West Haven), Health Watch and Max Plan. Delon is survived by his mother, Delores Ottley; his aunts, Nancy (Dennis) Grunder and Cathy Patillo; his sister Valena (Brent) Magill and his brother Darron (Pat) Ottley as well as his nephews, nieces and grandnephews and grandnieces.
