Dennis "Denny" Joe Burlison, 66 years young, ended the long and courageous battle to stay with the ones he loved most. Our beloved Son, Brother, Uncle, Father, and Grandfather, passed away on Friday, September 25, 2015 at McKay Dee Hospital surrounded by family. He was born to Joe J. and Verla A. Burlison in Little Rock, AK.
Denny graduated from Clearfield High School with the class of 1967. He married Carol Fisher in that same year, divorced and later married Sandy McCall. Denny then married Diane K. Green in 1984. Although the marriages didnt last, their friendships did.
Denny was an avid lover of the outdoors, especially fishing and craved the warmth of a campfire. He enjoyedmany trips into the wilderness of Alaska and annual tournaments at the Montana Open.
Denny was someone who was full of life, adventure, laughter and good times. His motto was always "Let the good times roll!" Over the years, there wasnt a person who met him that didnt leave with a smile. Hewas a light in so many lives. A true fan of sports, you could always find him on the sidelines or even in the coaches circle. Later in life, he was the biggest cheerleader for his grandkids, never missing a practice or game. He always watched with pride. We cant forget his love of animals, especially his partner in crime for many years, his furry friend,Shelby.
He spent most his lifetime as a self-employed,general contractor. He was known for his talents in painting and small home remodels. When he wasnt hard at work, you could always find him spending time with his friends or family. There wasnt one minute of his life wasted and he made everyone around him feel special.
He is survived by his children,Trent Joe Burlison, Shanna Lee Green, Cory Douglas (Kimberli) Green, and Chelsea Jo Burlison; siblings, Judy (Craig) Christensen, Kevin (Cindy) Burlison, Craig (Kris) Burlison and William -Bill Burlison; eight fantastic grandkids, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Denny loved us all.
Hewas preceded in death by his parents, Joe Burlison Jr. & Verla Ada Burlison, including a happy reunion with Shelby waiting at the rainbow bridge.
Where most men count riches in a wallet, Denny was the richest man of all with treasured memories. We know youll still be on the sidelines of life cheering us on from above. The family would like to give a special thank you to the nursing and aide staff at McKay Dee Hospital for their tenderness and care. Also to Amanda at Country Pines Assisted Living.
Dad, as your baby girl Chelsea Jo would say, its not good-bye Denny Daddyits Ill be seeing you soon.
