IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Dennis James
Carver
September 29, 1976 – April 23, 2024
With a heart as pure as the silver he so masterfully crafted, Dennis James Carver left this world on April 23, 2024, at the age of 47, in Medford, Oregon. Born on September 29, 1976, in sunny Pensacola, Florida, Dennis was a man who could create laughter and joy with his infectious smile.
Dennis was a proud Marine, stationed at 29 Palms, California. After serving his country, he found his calling as a master silversmith, creating beautiful jewelry. He was an accomplished artist in drawings and paintings. He was also a mentor, encouraging and teaching fellow veterans the art of jewelry making in Portland, Oregon.
He was a man of many talents, and his resume was a diverse as his interests. Dennis' most memorable job was working at the Olympics. He could regale you with tales of his security work during the Salt Lake City 2002 Olympics, and he'd be equally likely to talk about the latest U of U football game, a blockbuster movie, or the book he just couldn't put down. Rock hounding was also among his passions.
Dennis' family was his pride and joy. His mother, Sherri Harward (Dee Mar), and father, Steven Carver (Orella), instilled in him the values of love and laughter that he carried throughout his life.
Dennis' greatest joy in life was when he became a father to his son, Dominic Ward. His service dog, Bronco, was his steadfast companion, always ready with a wagging tail to brighten even the darkest days.
He was a fun-loving brother to Linda Harris (Barry), Deanna Harward, Paul Carver (Melinda), Thomas Harward, Summer Kimball (Geoff), and April Carver. Along with 11 nieces and nephews. Dennis would constantly tease and play with his siblings which filled the house with laughter and fun.
Dennis was a proud graduate of Cottonwood High School Class of 1994. He competed on the wrestling and football teams. He developed a thirst for knowledge through studies at the University of Portland, University of Utah, and Salt Lake Community College, majoring in Archeology. A lifelong learner, he believed that every day was an opportunity to learn something new.
Dennis was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He enjoyed being in the scouting program, especially participating on the Klondike camping trips.
Described by those who knew him best as loving, gentle and creative. Dennis had a knack for making those around him feel at ease. His laughter was infectious, his demeanor kind, and his creativity knew no bounds.
Dennis' life was like a well-crafted piece of jewelry- unique, precious, and leaving a lasting impression on all who were fortunate enough to be a part of it. His legacy will continue to shine brightly, reflecting the love and laughter he shared.
As we say goodbye to Dennis James Carver, let's not forget the joy he brought into our lives. He would want us to remember the good times, the laughter, and the love. And in true Dennis fashion, let's imagine him cracking a joke and flashing a mischievous smile as he embarks on his next great adventure.
Dennis, you may have left this earth, but the masterpieces of your life's work- your kindness, your humor, and your art- will remain with us forever. Thank you for the laughter, the lessons, and the love.
We know you are reunited with your Grandparents and other family members, who greeted you joyously. We will always love you. Until we meet again, know that you are deeply missed.
Proceeded in death by loving Grandparents, Mel and Norma Reeves and Paul and Mary Carver. Uncles Reed Fanning and Tyson Anderson as well as several cousins and friends. His devoted "snarfy" service dog, Bronco, passed away on April 26, 2024. They will be laid to rest together.
