Dennis John Petersen, 72, passed away April 15, 2018. He was born July 30, 1945 to Byron and Ruth Petersen in Logan, UT. Dennis graduated from BYU. He married Nancy Sewell in 1968 in Ogden. Dennis was a successful business owner of Petersen Motors and Petersen Marine for over 50 years. He was an avid outdoorsman, he loved boating, snowmobiling, ATVing, and his greatest passion was pheasant hunting at his ND farm with his family and friends. Dennis served in the U.S. Coast Guard for 2-1/2 years. He was President of the Utah Boaters Association, Bayliner Council (Dirty Dozen), Presidents Club, Top 20 World Mercruizer Sales, Premier Dealer Platinum Dealer, Transamerica Dealer Council, and Commodore at the Ogden Pineview Yacht Club. He loved going to morning coffee and being one of the fools on the row of stools. DJP made a lasting impression on everyone, and will truly be missed by all. Dennis is survived by his wife, Nancy; children, Tracy, Todd (Cindy), Corey (Staci); brother Kent (Nyla); grandchildren (Todd & Cindy) Britnee and Braxton and (Corey & Staci) Savanna and Cole. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents and many aunts, uncles and friends. There will be a viewing on Monday, April 23, 2018 from 6:00 8:00 pm at Leavitts Mortuary, 836-36th St., Ogden, UT. Services will be Tuesday, April 24, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Leavitts. There will be a viewing one hour prior to the Services. Interment at Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch.
