Deone Ehlers-Rhorer

Deone Clara Ehlers Rhorer, 54, passed away on August 22, 2020, in Eden, Utah.

She was born February 25, 1966, in Hemet, California to Jerry Ehlers and Joanna Wixson. She was the second child in a very large family. Deone grew up in Castle Valley, Utah, attended Grand County High School and graduated in 1984.

She welcomed four incredible boys into her life during her first marriage, and in 2014 married her cowboy, Jody Rhorer.

Deone was a real estate professional for more than 30 years and was the proud owner of Lady Bug Realty in Ogden, Utah. She was very skilled and knowledgeable in renovating properties of all kinds. When she and Jody married, they became a “house flipping duo.”

In addition to her professional life, Deone was gifted in many artistic pursuits. She inherited from her father the natural gift of painting on canvas and in recent years expanded her skills with pencil sketches. Her artistic pursuits did not stop there - she was the author of books and the writer of music and lyrics.

To Deone, family was of the utmost importance and she made it a point to attend every family function, both her immediate family and her widely extended family. Her most recent role as a grandma was one that she excelled at and cherished greatly.

She is preceded in death by her father, Jerry Ehlers.

She is survived by her husband, Jody; mother Joanna (Lee) Stoddard; sons Jeffrey (Andrea) Smith, Logan (Carissa) Smith, Trevor (Hannah) Smith, Tanner Smith; stepdaughters Monique (R.J.) Sites, Veronica Rhorer, and Skyla Rhorer; thirteen sisters, four brothers; and eight grandchildren.

Deone recruited me in my very first days of real estate. One thing I will always remember her telling me, "When you make it to the top, it's a little lonely. Not everyone will like that you're successful." And, of course, "List to last." Deone was a go-getter and worked hard for herself, her family and her company. Her smile will be missed. I'm grateful to have met her so early in my career and to have remained in contact with her to always take from her giving.

I love your mother! She was so full of energy and warmth. She loved all four of you boys. You are such wonderful men! I know she will be watching over you always. You will be in my prayers.

Jody I never had the pleasure of meeting you but she had kind things to say about you. I know she loved you. My prayers are with you at the difficult time.

Fondly, Janet Cazier

What an amazing woman. One of the most kind hearted people I've ever known. I was so looking forward to seeing you again. Having dinner together, you sharing your home and talent with us... what a blessing it is to have known you. You will be missed.

Dione was my realtor, but became my friend almost immediately. She was a very kind
& thoughtful lady. She always spoke of her children, with love & her cowboy Jody. She loved you all dearly. She also had a special love for her stepchildren. Often she would speak of little Patients with all the love you can imagine. Everything Dione touched turned to beauty.
She loved her life, & working with her best friend Jody. The world will miss this young lady, & all the talents & kindnesses she held. I can't believe you are gone my friend. I always looked forward to her calls or pop in visits. R.I.P. sweet lady!. You were loved & will be sorely missed.

Deone, youre gone and Im completely broken-hearted- why you?

Our lifelong friendship begun in the 11th grade; we became inseparable. Our time together was always comical, joyous and uplifting!! My memories of us:
Singing to blondie, making up dances & song lyrics, working with your dad on his motel murals, etc - will be greatly cherished.
Deone was sweet, kind, funny, and inspiring. She was superior in everything she did; especially motherhood, she loved her boys! Her exalting influence will never be forgotten.
Ill miss our monthly catch-up calls, and her upbeat voice, but find peace in knowing Ill see her again.
As youth, we gave each other nicknames. She was sky. Now, when I look to the sky, Ill always think of my amazing friend- DEONE. I love you!!

I am sending love and prayers!!! I hope you find peace and comfort in the fact that your mom is a beautiful soul. Her time was cut way to short and my heart and empathy go out to all of you.
