Diane LaVelle Boyer was born August 22, 1953 in Portland, Oregon to Joseph Charles Boyer and May LaVelle Enyart. She was raised by her single mother LaVelle and grandparents, Bessie and Ross Enyart in Milwaukie, Oregon and attended Milwaukie High School. Diane married James K. Linderman, Jr. on January 4, 1972. They lived in Germany, where Jim was stationed with the US Army. In Germany was where Diane joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and was a faithful member all of her life. Being widowed after 41 years of marriage to her first husband, she married David Casados on September 27, 2014. Mom grew up picking berries in the field for income as a youth and learned to be a great seamstress. Mom made all of her own clothing as a necessity, and she later used this talent to bless her children by being able to make them clothing and many costumes through the years. Mom and dad returned from Germany to raise their six children (4 boys and 2 girls) in Milwaukie, Oregon for 20 years in the home that mom inherited from her grandparents. After having the last of her six children, mom went back to school to become a medical assistant, which she did for 10 years while in Oregon. They later relocated to Utah in 1998. From 2009-2013, they lived in Pooler, GA for dads work. During their time in Georgia, mom and dad served as ordinance workers in the South Carolina temple and did a lot of missionary work in the area. Mom had a knack to find friends wherever she landed. She had a caring heart, compassionate nature, and was a friend to all. Mom had many lifelong friends from Oregon, Germany, Utah and Georgia. Mom loved to cook and bake for others. She could never make a meal for one or two; it was always enough to feed an army and everyone came back for more, because she was an excellent cook. Food was usually centered on entertaining friends, or feeding others in need like her neighbors, ward members or the missionaries. Mom loved music and dancing, she loved Elvis and appreciated many other musicians. Mom sang in her ward choirs and in the last years of her life sang in the SLCA Womens Choir. Mom was diagnosed with Ocular Melanoma shortly after being widowed. She was cancer free for a year before her cancer returned May 2015. Mom defied the obstacles that lay ahead of her these past two years. She never let her diagnosis define her and she lived her life to the fullest each day. She went along checking off her bucket list and overcoming her fears. Mom always had a positive demeanor and lived daily without complaint. Mom was blessed to have two loves in her lifetime, her first husband Jim and her second husband David. We want to express our deepest gratitude to David Casados, her husband, for being a loving, patient companion and caregiver to mom during her last years. We also want to express our thanks and appreciation to The Huntsman Cancer Institute staff and moms LDS ward family and friends. Mom is survived by her six children: Scott (Krista) Linderman, Jim Linderman, Joyce (Bret) Bowler, Melissa (Clint) Lawton, Jason Linderman, Alex (Elisa) Linderman, her 20 grandchildren, her nieces and nephews, her BFF Peggy (Del) Christian and countless friends. Mom is preceded in death by her first husband James K. Linderman, her mom LaVelle, her grandparents and her sister Joan. Services will be held at the Riverton 9th ward building, 3113 W. 13400 S., Riverton, UT 84065. Viewing will be held Thursday, June 22nd from 6:00 8:00 pm and funeral Services will be Friday, June 23rd at 11:00 am (viewing right before at 10:00 am). Graveside service will be held at Leavitt Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah at 3:00 pm.
