Diena V. Dalebout's Obituary

Our sweet mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother passed away peacefully on December 25, 2018, from complications associated with a broken heart. Her two children were at her side almost non-stop after being transported to the hospital twelve days prior. Mom was born in Ogden on October 29, 1942, to Victor and Arvilla Villella. She was the youngest of three children (Marilyn, Frank, and Diena). Mom graduated from Ogden High School in 1960, where she was involved with the pep club and many other activities. She went on to graduate from Stevens Henager College in secretarial studies. Diena began her career at Hill Air Force Base as a secretary where she met Lee. They were married in January of 1964 and later sealed in the Bountiful LDS Temple. They lovingly stayed by each others side through thick and thin for over 53 years. Mom and Dad were blessed with two children: Cindy Wiggins (Kent) and Scott Dalebout (Gloria); five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Mom was so proud and loved each and every one of them. Mom quit her job at Hill Air Force Base so she could stay at home with Cindy and Scott. When they reached their teens, she returned to Hill. Mom picked up where she left off and eventually worked her way to a management position overseeing the Utah Test and Training Range. She retired from the Base in 2003 with over 27 years of service. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee; father, Victor; mother, Arvilla; and her sister, Marilyn. Diena held many positions in her church and loved to serve. She held every position from Cub Scout leader to Relief Society Secretary to Young Womens President. Mom loved her family more than words can describe. She was the cornerstone of the family and kept us close at all times. Her life revolved around the kids and grandkids. In addition, she loved the ladies who stood by her side after dads death and kept her busy every day. We so appreciate the love they showed our mommy. Mom never recovered from dads death, so we know she is happy once again. Mom passed away on Christmas morning, so we know she received the best Christmas present of all- She got to meet her Savior and reunite with Dad. We would like to express our sincere appreciation to the Doctors and Nurses at the McKay Dee Hospital Emergency Room and Intensive Care Unit. They went above just the care. They showed her dignity and love for her last twelve days of life.
