Dixie Ann
Parmenter
March 9, 1937 – November 4, 2025
Dixie Ann Parmenter (née Smith), a cherished mother, grandmother, and steadfast friend, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2025, in Arnold, California. Born on March 9, 1937, in Ogden, Utah, Dixie lived a life marked by unwavering love, dedication, and a spirited courage that inspired all who knew her.
Dixie was known for her tenacious and brave spirit, a woman who embraced life wholeheartedly—always ready to jump out of an airplane, sharing in laughter, fitness, and the joyful playfulness of games. She cultivated a warm and welcoming home, where she created enduring family traditions that continue to resonate within her close-knit family. Her passions were many and varied, from gardening and bowling to swimming, bunco, and cribbage. Never without a book in hand, Dixie’s creativity blossomed through crafts, and her adventurous palate led to memorable eating escapades with her son, Gary.
Her professional life left an indelible mark through her meaningful work with the School District, Hallmark, and Sears, touching countless lives along the way. Yet, perhaps her proudest accomplishment was the love and loyalty that defined her family life. Dixie nurtured a beautiful family, raising her children near her best friends; Betty and John Brunett and their children. She cultivating bonds that enriched everyone’s lives. Her remarkable green thumb brought life to plants that seemed to flourish solely through her care.
Dixie shared a rich journey with her late husband, Everald (Par) Parmenter, traveling to enchanting destinations like Tahiti and Hawaii. She also enjoyed a notable trip to Norway with her daughter, Vicki, creating memories that her family holds dear.
Survived by her devoted children: Vicki Goldman and Art Goldman; Robyn Leimer and Mike Leimer; Pamela Parmenter; and Gary and Ana Parmenter, Dixie’s legacy blossoms through her grandchildren Jamie, Dayna, Amy, Andrew, Elisabeth, Grant, Colton, and Kelsey and Genesis, as well as nine great-grandchildren. She was also lovingly accompanied by her sweet canine companion, Sugar.
Dixie was preceded in death by her husband, Everald (Par) Parmenter, her grandson Brett Leimer, her parents Lester and Velma Smith, and her siblings Ray and Rell Smith, and Valeen Archibald.
Her passing leaves a profound void among those privileged to know her, yet her spirit endures in the stories, love, and memories she so generously shared. As family and friends reflect on Dixie Ann Parmenter’s remarkable life, they celebrate a woman whose heart was as abundant as her laughter, whose courage was matched only by her compassion. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered with the utmost respect and affection.
