Dolly Kumiko Miya October 23, 1928 ~ July 5, 2014 Our sweet, kind, gentle, quiet mother died July 5, 2014 at the U of U Hospital. Dolly was born in Modesto, CA. and moved to Utah where she graduated from West High School in Salt Lake City. She met her husband where they settled on a farm in Syracuse, UT Dolly is survived by her husband Yosh of 57 years of marriage; and her children; son, Scott Miya of Westminster, CO.; daughters, Karen (Ted) McCall of Paia, Maui, Hawaii, Linda (Rich) Sowerby of Roy, UT., Tricia Miya of Maui, Hawaii; grandchildren, Mindon (Don) Weiss and Dylan Keo (Suzie) McCall of Portland, OR.; and great grandchildren, Benny and Reef. Also surviving, four sisters, June, Merry (Lou), Gin (Tom), and Betty (Art). She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother Richard, sisters-in-law, Mary and Yoneko, brothers-in-law, Fred and Stu. We will miss her a lot! She will always be remembered for her quiet, selflessness, and always taking care of others. Aloha Mom. A private family service will be held at a later date.
