Don C. Fredrickson's Obituary

Don C. Fredrickson, 83, passed away in his home, surrounded by family on August 20, 2017, after a 5 year battle with cancer. Don was born in Logan, UT on December 10, 1934, to Mary Jane Murray and Chester Fredrickson. He was raised in Ogden, where he attended school and met the love of his life, Juanita Fay Allred; they were married on April 18, 1952. They have been married for 65 years. Don and Nita had six children and raised their family in the Ogden Valley where he spent many days hunting and fishing with his boys, always having one of them by his side, even in his last days (His passions were hunting and fishing.) He was a member of the Browning Collectors Association for over 20 years, his second true love The Browning Gun. He was a member of; The Pintail Duck Club and still holds the title for; Most shells shot for the least hits, The N.R.A., and Ducks Unlimited. He loved spending time with anyone who shared his passion and made many wonderful friends throughout the years. He loved restoring and sharing his knowledge about the history of old guns with anyone that would listen. Don was a self-made man and entrepreneur. He started his career at the age of 17, designing homes in the Terrace, worked as a draftsman, which lead to his career as an Architect. He opened his own business, Design Source. He had a way with making peoples dream homes come to life. He designed many buildings and homes across Utah, Idaho, Wyoming and many other states. He was truly a gifted man. Don was a hardworking, kind hearted husband, father, and friend always making someone laugh with his off the wall sense of humor (sometimes a little too much). He will be missed but never forgotten. Don is survived by his wife, Juanita Fay Fredrickson; their four sons, Robby, Kevin, Collin (Tammy), and Ben; their daughter, Lisa (Larry) Richards; 11 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, one great-great grandchild, his sister Juanita Fredrickson, and many nieces and nephews.
