Deis
June 30, 1930 – January 19, 2026
Donald Joseph Deis was born on June 30, 1930 in Ogden, Utah to Louis Pyler Deis and Hazel Moyes Deis. He is the second oldest of 3 children. He had 1 brother and 1 sister.
Donald lived in Ogden all of his life. He attended Ogden High School and Weber State University. Don Served in the Utah National Guard as a sergeant.
Donald married Delores Faye Johnson Deis on January 19, 1951. Don and Delores and their children were sealed in the Logan Temple on July 21, 1960. They were married seventy-two years. Don died, and reunited with wife, on their 75 wedding anniversary.
Donald has been a faithful, life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints serving in many callings, including the bishopric. Don and Delores served a mission as Camp Directors at Camp Atoka in Ogden Canyon for several years and at the Ogden Bishop Storehouse for 3 years and continued to volunteer for many years after.
Don and Delores loved to travel. Together they traveled to 24 states and 14 countries. Don loved exploring roads to see where they went, exploring petroglyphs, rock hounding and camping. They started out camping in a tent, then bought a small trailer, a 5th wheel, and finally a motor home. During retirement Don loved spending the winter months in St George, Utah with family and friends. Don and Delores loved visiting the National Parks, exploring all areas of Southern Utah, traveling to Port of Penasco, Mexico, the flea market in Yuma, AZ, locating and visiting petroglyphs, historical sites and rock hounding. Their children, and eventually their grandchildren enjoyed camping and the many adventures which they took them on. An annual favorite camping location was in the Uinta Mountains, near Mirror Lake. Don also loved to snowmobile with family and friends.
Don retired as a finance manager from Dial Finance/Norwest Finance/Wells Fargo as after working there for 30 years.
Don and Delores are survived by their four children, Lynda Deis Jensen and Clint Jensen of Shelley, Idaho; Thomas Deis and Tami Bloxham of Sandy, Utah; Steven Deis and Teresa Deis of Lakehills, Texas; and Paul Deis of Ogden, Utah. Don and Delores have 11 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren. Don was preceded in death by his wife, Delores, and 2 grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Leavitt's Mortuary & Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden. A memorial service will follow in the Waterfall Atrium at the same location.
