D. Larry DixonROY- Donald (Larry) Dixon, beloved husband, father and grandfather passed away peacefully on December 5, 2011 surrounded by his family. Larry was born on February 21, 1939 in Ogden, Utah to Leonard and Florence Dixon. Larry attended Ogden High School and Weber State College. He also served in the Marine Corp. Larry married Anita Gay Ayoub on April 15, 1961. They recently celebrated their 50th Wedding Anniversary. Together they had 3 children, Marilyn Dixon of Corrine, Lauri (Paul) VanAmerongen of Silverdale, Washington, Judy (Eric) Neyts of West Point, and 7 grandchildren.Larry worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad as a brakeman and a conductor for 30 years. He was also a member of the Benevolent Protective Order of Elks where he served as an Exalted Ruler for Ogden Lodge 719. Larry enjoyed fishing, hunting, boating and camping with family and friends.Larry was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Bob, Bill, Bud and L.T. The family would like to express thanks to neighbors and friends for their help, love and concern, and special thanks to Intermountain Homecare and Hospice. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, December 10th at 11 a.m. at Leavitts Mortuary 836 36th Street in Ogden. Friends may visit the family on Friday, December 9th from 6 to 8pm and one hour prior to the services also at the mortuary.
