A loving family man and a hard-working businessman
Donald Donovan, age 80, passed away peacefully at his home on July 30th. He was surrounded by his loving family, who will miss him dearly. He is survived by his wife, Virginia, his 11 children, Carrie, Kim, Cheryl, Mark, Tim, Kelly, Daniella, Rhonda, Rodney, Renee, and Ronnie, his sister, Dee, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Scott and Lacey Donovan, and his faithful dog, Jr.
Donald was born on December 18, 1943, in Baltimore, Maryland. He grew up in a close-knit family, where he learned the values of hard work, honesty, and loyalty. He graduated from Muscatine High School in Muscatine, Iowa in 1962, and then joined the automotive industry where he earned many awards. He had a passion for cars and mechanics, and he eventually opened his own auto parts store in Wilton, Iowa called Unlimited Auto Parts. He went on to other automotive endeavors from there and eventually got into the Maintenance business at a retirement complex in Ogden called Village Square Apartments. The company he retired from in December of 2021 was a Utah Non-Profit Housing Corporation. He enjoyed fixing things and helping others, and he was well-liked and respected by his co-workers and residents. He loved doing yard work and was very particular about how his yard was kept. He also loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who adored him. He was a great father, husband, brother, and friend, who always had a smile and a joke to share. He was a man of integrity and generosity, who lived his life with an impeccable work ethic and a positive attitude. He will be remembered for his kindness, his humor, his sassiness, and his love.
