IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Donald William
Flower
June 17, 1951 – February 23, 2024
Donald William Flower died on February 23, 2024 at the McKay-Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah after a couple of years of declining health. He was born in Kansas to Georgaleen Ruby and Donald Wilbur Flower on June 17, 1951. He moved to Salt Lake City, Utah when he was a teen. He participated in ROTC at West High School where he won a marksmanship trophy and later graduated.
He enjoyed shooting guns and bows and was an avid mountain man, attending numerous Mountain Man Rendezvous activities during his life in Utah. He attended Utah Tech to become a machinist and worked in that career at Fastener Engineering until he retired. He loved making wooden toys and welding bolts and nuts together to create figures. Don also was very interested in geneology and traveled back to Kansas many times in search of family information for his records. He visited many family historical sites while traveling with his mother in his later years. Don probably knew more about the family history than anyone.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Dayla Sherrill, and one nephew, Todd Sherrill. He is survived by two sisters, LaDonna (Stephen) and Roxann, one half brother, Keith, and one half sister, Brenda. He had many friends who comforted him in his last days. Per his wishes, he was an organ donor followed by cremation.
