Donna Jean Taylor Benzley, 93, passed away January 8, 2016 in Layton, Utah. Donna was born October 22, 1922 to George L. and Vera (Nannie) Taylor in Ogden, Utah. She married Ralph De Lorne Benzley in Escondido, California on January 24, 1942. Today we reflect on 93 years of life and find there are not enough words or ways to describe how Donna touched each of us. Memories of Donna are not filled with acts of heroism or tales of grand adventure but instead memories of love, family and selfless acts. She was always ready and willing to host any event in her home where she would share her love of cooking and great conversation. When attempting to recreate one of her meals, there seemed to always be missing an ingredient. Perhaps the missing ingredient was the love of a mother, grandmother and friend that filled every dish. Stories of her life were colorful and always contained a lesson or advice if you listened closely. Donnas selfless acts knew no bounds no matter the impact on her personal life. She was eager to lend a hand despite her personal struggles and found comfort in others happiness which she helped to create. Donna leaves us with one final lesson, that acts of heroism and grand adventure can simply be the memories created from the love of another, the bond of family, and the selfless ways we can give of ourselves. Mom, grandma, friendrest in the peace. We all share the knowledge of knowing you have been reunited with the love of your life. Donna is survived by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Graveside Services will be held on January 15, 2016 at 11:00 am at Ogden City Cemetery, 1875 Monroe Blvd., Ogden, Utah.
