After a long and fulfilling life, Donna Manning Gordon was reunited with her eternal companion on May 25, 2013. She was born July 5, 1927 in Farmington, Utah, the daughter of Arthur F. and Ethel Clayton Manning. On Oct. 4, 1944, she married the love of her life, A. Jack Gordon in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They lived in Farmington, Draper, Farr West, So. Willard and So. Ogden.
She served on the board of directors of many civic organizations including the Utah State Citizens Council on Alcohol Beverage Control, Bear River Tri-County Board of Health, Childrens Aid Society, and was the first women elected to the Box Elder Board of Education. She was elected to three terms on the Board of Education, but resigned during her third term to serve a LDS mission in So. Carolina with her husband.
She was active in the LDS Church serving as a teacher in all the auxiliaries as well as president and counselor in the Ward Relief Society, Primary and Young Womens. She was also a Counselor in the Stake Relief Society and Young Womens.
She dearly loved and was loved in return by all of her posterity. She is survived by: 7 children, Pam (Lynn) Corbridge, Hooper, Bruce (Michelle) Thompson, Murray, Jim (Gerrie) Gordon, Hooper, Julee (Mont) Smith, No. Ogden, Greg (Sharie) Gordon, Plain City, Jil (Don) Green, Fruit Heights, Denton Gordon, Wichita, Kansas; 29 grandchildren; 48 great grandchildren; a sister Gerrie (Jay) Brown, a brother Mel (Doris) Manning, and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Manning.
She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, a brother Milton Manning, a grandson Daniel Davis, a granddaughter Angela Smith, one great grandson, James Woods, three great granddaughters Kimberly Grow, Ashly and Emily Gordon.
We miss you mom but know that you are having one fantastic reunion.
