Dorie Patterson Peel

Dorie Sue Patterson Peel was born October 24th, 1962, passed away Thursday, April 29th due to an infection complicated by her long battle with Lupus. Dorie was a gifted soul with a loving heart. She was sophisticated, intelligent, bright, and funny. She was never judgmental of others and always wanted the best for everyone.

Dorie was beautiful and patient and even though she did not have money, she was rich with love. She would bring strangers into her home and share what little she had with others always.

Dorie is survived by her sister, a daughter (which she gave up for adoption that she loved so dearly and was so excited to have the opportunity to be in contact with), and her husband of 17 years Michael Shawn Peel. I want to thank her for the 17 wonderful years she gave me. She taught me that when a heated discussion takes place no one is listening if both people are yelling. How true that was. We had a wonderful relationship with lots of trust and faith and I'm going to miss her gravely. She is the love of my life.

There will not be any services. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking for donations to help with final expenses and medical bills or that a donation be made in her honor to the Lupus Foundation of America
