On November 1, 2022, at age 99, Doris Bourassa our beloved mother, grandmother and friend passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. She has journeyed on to where there is no darkness, and the light forever shines.
She was born to William Harrison and Katie Mihalchan on March 25, 1923. She was brought up and educated in Edmonton Alberta, Canada.
In 1945 Doris married Rosario (Frenchie) Bourassa, in Edmonton. In 1946 they moved to Ogden, Utah. They were blessed with three wonderful children, Annmarie, Maryann and Michael.
During her career Doris met many wonderful people and had many friends. After retirement she became involved in volunteer work at the South Ogden Senior Center for over 30 years. She was always active in her community.
Doris had many hobbies. She enjoyed sewing, bowling, ceramics, and gardening.
Survived by her sister, Val Harrison, Edmonton; daughter, Maryann Jones, Ogden Utah; son, Michael (Julia) Bourassa, Colorado; two grandchildren, Jess (Christi) Bourassa, Colorado; Matthew (Taylor) Bourassa, Colorado; four great grandchildren, Brason, Ainslee, Aiden, Presley, Colorado.
Doris was preceded in death by her parents, sister, brother, husband, daughter, grandson and two sons-in-law.
The family would like to thank the staff of enhabit Hospice for their excellent care and support.
Service will be held at Leavitt's Mortuary on November 7, 2022, at 11:30 a.m. with a Visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to an organization of choice to help those in need.
