Doris Kennedy, of Pleasant View, Utah, went home to be with the Lord Thursday, August 16th, 2012, at the age of 90, while residing at the Deseret Health and Rehab Center in Ogden, Utah.Doris was born June 14th, 1922, in Omaha, Nebraska, and at the age of 6 months moved with her parents to Fillmore, California. Doris received a A.B. degree in Elementary Education from Santa Barbara State Teachers College in 1944. She worked as a telephone switchboard operator during World War II and as a substitute teacher after her marriage to Ken Kennedy, in March 1947. Doris passions were her family, her church, and her needle work. She loved good food and people and enjoyed her church family, the senior center, and had a wonderful smile that could light up a room.She was preceded in death by her husband, Ken Kennedy, and her two sisters.She is survived by her daughter, Lynn Bowman (Dave), and her son Rich Kennedy (Judy), four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren. Her grandchildren brought great joy to her.A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, August 25th at Valley View Baptist Church, 2712 N 400 E, North Ogden, UT. The family will greet visitors from 12:45 PM to 1:45 PM.
