On November, 10, 2015 the world lost a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and best friend. Doris passed away at Chancellor Gardens of Clearfield, Utah after a long and courageous battle against an unbelievably cruel Alzheimers Disease.
She was born to parents Anton and Mary Weber in Dickinson, North Dakota on June 10, 1937.
She completed her education at St. Joseph grade school and Dickinson High School, graduating in 1955. Upon high school completion, she was employed as a Dental Assistant, which included managing finances and business affairs.
On June 6, 1959, Doris married Frank Schroeder at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Dickinson, North Dakota and immediately moved to Seattle, Washington where Frank was employed.
Before beginning a family, she served as Office Manager for a Grocery Wholesale Company on the Seattle Waterfront. She relayed numerous stories of the dangers of wharf rats and gained a healthy respect for the beasts.
As an Engineer, Frank was transferred to over a dozen states during his career. Doris eagerly supported each move, set up and managed a home, guided the kids education and made countless friends. She possessed an infectious personality and everyone that met her liked her.
Doris was very athletic her entire life. She played softball into her 40s, golfed and was a champion bowler. Indeed, we were forced to dispose of many trophies to lighten the moving load.
Following retirement, Frank and Doris traveled several years by motor home before moving to West Haven, Utah to be near children and grandchildren.
Doris is survived by her loving husband, Frank of 56 years; sons, Brian (Maria) Schroeder of West Haven, Brad (Tracy) Schroeder of South Ogden; granddaughters, Malyssa of Portland, Oregon, Allie of Salt Lake City, Janell and Lauren still at home; grandson, Keven; brothers, Elmer (Jean) Weber of Vancouver, Washington, Doug (Mary) Weber of Albuquerque, New Mexico; brother-in-law, Marvin Hearnesberger of Fruita, Colorado; sisters-in-law, Marlene (Bob) Harms of St. Paul, Minnesota and Rosella Duskin of Coos Bay, Oregon.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Lorraine Hearnesberger; brother, Dennis Weber and nephew, Scotty Hearnesberger.
Doris was a devoted and practicing member of the Catholic faith her entire life.
The family would like to thank the Chancellor Gardens staff, Doctor Holland, Essential Care and Health Watch Homecare and Hospice for the expert and special care they provided Doris.
