Dorothy Elaine Doerr was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She passed away on Wednesday, October 18th, peacefully in her own home after a long and beautiful life. Dorothy was born and raised in Deaver Wyoming by her parents Wilber and Roma Dove, along with her three siblings: Don Dove, Joyce Dove-Saxe, and Loren Dove. Dorothy was a remarkable woman who left an impression on everyone she met. She loved to tell stories about her humble beginnings on the farm, and how they would pick beans after school and haul their water from the nearby river. Dorothy often recounted her love for school, particularly English and Spelling. Dorothy and her sister, Joyce, worked together at the Cody Inn during the summer months for school clothes. Joyce was the host and she always put the big tippers in Dorothys section. Shortly after high school graduation, Dorothy found happiness in her marriage to Donald Doerr. They were married in Lovell, Wyoming and moved to Van Nuys, California where Don was an engineer. Don and Dorothy had their first daughter, Debbie, in California. In 1957, they moved to Ogden, Utah, where they had two more daughters; Diane and Dorothy, and they built their lives in Utah. Dorothy loved her girls and had a special bond with each of them. Dorothy was content and fulfilled as a homemaker. She also excelled outside of the home. Dorothy was a legal secretary and worked for attorneys. She was passionate about typing and considered this skill one of her greatest talents. Dorothy loved to tell her daughters and grandchildren about her ability to type 103 words per minute, with no errors, on a typewriter, when spell check was not available. In addition to typing, Dorothy was zealous about writing and spelling. She loved to develop creative ways to spell challenging words; often breaking them down into funny stories. Dorothy was also successful in real estate. She learned quickly and eventually owned several properties. In her mid-30s, Dorothy's life was forever changed when she found Jesus and the transformative power of God's word, the Bible. Dorothy's passion for her faith was evident in the way she shared her love for Jesus with everyone she met. Dorothys heartbeat to the rhythm of country music and anything Elvis Presley. She found immense joy in dancing and always adorned herself with a cross and the color red. Dorothy was blessed to see her family grow, whom she adored dearly. She actively participated in their lives and found happiness in witnessing her daughters, grandkids, and great-grandkids as they embarked on their own life journeys. Dorothy was preceded in death by her eldest brother, Don Dove, her sister Joyce Dove-Saxe, the love of her life of 27 years, Don Doerr, her eldest daughter, Debbie Oliver, her granddaughter Cami Lynn Oliver and her great-granddaughter, Skylee Langdon. Dorothy is survived by her two daughters, Diane (Kory) Bosgieter and Dorothy (Bruce) Bennett., as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dorothys life was marked by love, faith, and a profound connection to her family. She will forever remain in our hearts as a woman who left an unforgettable mark of love and strength.
