Dorothy Vause Jones, 93, died March 17, 2011 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was born on her mothers birthday, May 8, 1917 to Fred J. and Edith Rose Vause. Dorothy was raised and educated in the Ogden area. She later moved to Chandler, Arizona then settling in Las Vegas, Nevada.She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter day Saints. She served the Church in the music departments in all of the organizations. Mother worked in the receiving room at JC Pennys in Ogden, as a full time mom and homemaker then went to work in the reservation office at the Mint Hotel in Las Vegas. Mom enjoyed reading, drawing and sketching, sewing and crocheting. She shared many afghans and doilies with friends and family. She is survived by her children and their spouses. Kent and Cheryl Bambrough, South Weber, Utah, Dale and Sandra Jones, St. George, Utah, Karen and Robert Leydecker Henderson, Nevada, Chris and Sherili Jones, Las Vegas, Nevada, 13 grandchildren, 39 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers, Frank, Laurence and Jack Vause, as well as her sister Marian Vause.Family and friends may visit Sunday, March 27, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at Leavitts Mortuary, 836 36th Street, Ogden, and one hour prior to services that will be held Monday, March 28, 2011 at 11:00 a.m.Interment Ogden City Cemetery.
