Dorothy Wessler Wood October 5, 1921 - August 26, 2014 Dorothy Wessler Wood of Ogden, Utah died peacefully in her sleep August 26, 2014 at Peachtree Assisted Living. She was born in Ogden, UT, October 5, 1921, the daughter of George C. and Eliza Evans Wessler. She was a member of the LDS church. Dorothy graduated from Ogden High School in 1939, which was the 2nd graduating class. She was employed as an office receptionist for local doctors, which included Dr. Utterback, Dr. Grua and Dr. Pugmeyer. Dorothy was also an executive secretary for Boeing Plant 77. Upon retirement she and her husband built a home at Nordic Valley and a cabin Star Valley, WY. Together they also enjoyed their winter in Yuma, AZ. She married Rex W. Wood on August 8, 1962 in Ogden, UT. Most of all Dorothy loved her family; she was a beautiful lady and admired by all. Dorothys children and their spouses are Shanna Adams (deceased); Annette and Dean Morgan, Brigham City; Karen and Pat Stephenson, Hooper; G. Leonard Maw (deceased) and Ralene Maw, Ogden; and Curt and Connie Maw, Lino Lakes, MN. She has 18 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildren; and 36 great-great grandchildren. Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband Rex W. Wood; son G. Leonard Maw; daughter Shana Adams; sisters Naomi Giles, Marion Higham and Louise Taylor; and brothers George Wessler Jr. and Walter Wessler. Funeral Services will be held at Leavitts Mortuary, 836-36th Street, Ogden, UT, Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with a viewing 9:45 - 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment will follow at Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, South Ogden. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made in her name to the Primary Childrens Hospital at 100 N Medical Drive, SLC, UT 84413.
