Edith Carol Squires passed away on July 20th, 2023. She was born on the 25th of December of 1941, in Logan Utah; to the two best parents a girl could ever dream of having Henry B. & Edith Carr Kehoe Squires. She had a wonderful childhood with two wonderful brothers Burke, and George and her stepbrother Jack (Deceased 1983). Carol attended Ogden City Schools and graduated from Ogden High School in 1959 and went on to obtain her bachelors degree from Weber State University. Carol taught elementary school for 4 years, then devoted her time to her own children. She married Jeffery B. Wayman in 1964 (divorced in 2002) and together they had four great sons: Richard K. (Deceased 2020), Rob G., J. Rhett (Janet - wife) and Daniel Q. (Kristin - wife). In 2006 she married Jerry DeGroot in the Ogden Temple. Carol has 9 Grand Children and 12 Great Grand Children. She loves and adores each and every one of them! The joy she found in life was and has been spending time with family & friends. Spending time in her gardens, she had a beautiful rose garden at her home in Washington Terrace, loves being outside, scrap booking with her "sister" Bonnie (sister-in-law), sewing, making candies with her best friend Ruth, and cooking foods that her family loves. She has touched so many lives and so many lives have touched hers. She loved serving wherever she was, warming hearts, touching lives and bringing smiles to those she came in contact with. She has a deep love for her Heavenly Father and Savior Jesus Christ, and she has served in many capacities in her faith as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. A Viewing will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023, from 10:00-10:45 with funeral services beginning at 11:00 am at Leavitts Mortuary 836 36th Street, Ogden, Utah. Interment at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park.
