Obituary

Edward (Ed) Martin Evans, 60, of Farr West, Utah passed away on September 7, 2023, after a short battle with liver cancer. Ed was born on October 24, 1962, to Jay and Shirley Evans in Mountain Home, Idaho. He spent most of his childhood in Rock Springs, Wyoming where he had a passion for karate. He started training in sixth grade and had earned his 6th degree black belt by the time he graduated high school. After Ed completed high school in 1981, he went on to enlist in the Utah Army National Guard. After working for a time in ordinance, he cross-trained to become a military police officer. Ed went on to serve diligently for eleven years, which included an activation to Desert Storm in 1990, before separating and becoming a Federal Reserve Officer. He worked for the Federal Reserve in Salt Lake City until 2006. Over the next several years, he worked at North Park before starting a career at Floor & Decor where he worked for the last eight years. Over the past thirteen years Ed has enjoyed spending all his time with the love of his life JoEtta. They loved to travel and visited places like Oahu, Hawaii; St. Louis, Missouri; Charleston, South Carolina; Disneyland California; Seattle, Washington and Ashton, Idaho. His hobbies included a love of airplanes, guns, football, and video games. He was a die-hard Vikings fan and his favorite video games were Madden Football, Witcher and Ace Combat. Ed was predeceased by Jay Evans, Shirley Evans, and Jay (Marty) Evans. He is survived by his lifelong love JoEtta, his seven children and their families: Eddy Evans, Jacob Evans (Abigail), Ashley Evans, Amber Petro (Biaggio), Jenny Rockwood (Jazz), Brandon Evans, and Brian Evans as well as five grandchildren. Visitation will be held on September 13, 2023, from 5:00-6:00 pm with a Celebration of Life to follow from 6:00-7:00 pm. Military Graveside Services will be held on September 14, 2023, at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Eds GoFundMe account to assist with end of life and funeral expenses.
