Edward MacDougall HydeEdward passed away peacefully in his sleep October 31, 2011 at home. He was born August 9, 1917 to Ernest N. and Mildred M. Hyde in Montreal, Canada. Edward graduated from Drexel University with his BSME while working for Proctor and Schwartz in Philadelphia as a co-op student. He retired from Proctor and Schwartz as Chief Engineer, with at least 11 patents and a Professional Engineers License. He was a pure engineer. He also received an honorary masters degree from Clemson University. Edward is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary K. Hyde, 2 sons Edward C. and Curtis A. (Delene Blair) Hyde; grandchildren Spencer M. Hyde, Allie M. (Andrew) Longoria and 1 great grandson Dominic Longoria; Brother Ernest N. Hyde, many nieces and nephews, his sister-in-law Katherine Pellicano and Herbert G. Allen of Poway, CA., his friend of 65 years. They just celebrated their 94th birthdays together.Edward was preceded in death by his mother and father, 2 brothers; Douglas and Donald Hyde and one son Michael Christopher Hyde.
