IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Edward
Smith
February 21, 1944 – December 17, 2024
Edward "Skip" Smith passed away peacefully on December 17, 2024, at the age of 80. He was born in Bell, California. He also lived in Washington, before settling in Utah.
Skip earned an Associate's degree from Pasadena City College. He was respected as a Supervisor at Ma Bell/U.S. West and honored as a veteran of the United States Army. His professional achievements included being a valued Senior Supervisor for Fiberoptics during the 2002 Winter Olympics.
Skip was a regular golfer at Riverside Golf Course, where his passion for golf was evident in his proudest accomplishment: achieving a Hole in One. His interests extended to golfing, fishing, traveling, tending his garden, and serving as a pit crew member for Youngblood Hot Rods at the Bonneville Salt Flats, showcasing his love for speed. He also treasured the time he spent with his family.
He is survived by his loving children Ricky Smith (Sophia Acle), Wendy (Timm) Kleeb, Robert (Marie) Fink, and Tami Masters (Michael Landon), seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, as well as his cherished sister Jeanne Amato. He was preceded in death by his wife Karen Smith and child Casey Stone.
Skip would light up a room with his laugh and witty humor. Skip was one of the good guys, leaving a lasting impression on all who knew him. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him.
The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude for the love and exceptional care that was given to him by the staff at Chancellor Gardens and A Plus Hospice. We can never repay them for the love and tender care they gave him.
"LET"S GOOOOO!!!!" – Skip
