Elaine Harbertson Moore 1921~2011 Sunset, UtahElaine H. Moore, our beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend passed away peacefully on June 19, 2011. She was born on August 4, 1921 to Joseph Harbertson and Ellen Weaver Harbertson. Raised in Ogden, Utah, Elaine attended Ogden High School the first year it was open and graduated in 1939. She met her husband Lester J. Moore while he was visiting the area to go to Lagoon. They were engaged on New Years Eve 1940 and married on March 28, 1941.While Lester was serving in World War II Elaine worked at Hill Air Force Base as one of the first female welders, and later during the Korean War worked as an electroplater. Elaine and Lester Moved to Sunset, Utah in 1950 where they raised three sons and a daughter. She loved animals and had several dogs and a pet duck over the years. Elaine was active in the LDS church her entire life and loved taking pictures especially of the family she loved so much. Her husband Lester died on April 2, 2002 after enjoying 61 years of marriage.Elaine is survived by her brother: Robert Harberston; son: Jay (Faye) Moore, daughter: Nancy Moore and numerous grand, and great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; brother: Elgin J. and Wayne H. Harbertson; and her two sons Kevin L. and Wayne J. Moore.We wish to express our gratefulness to Brenda, Alex, Wayne and Teresa with Haven Hospice for the wonderful and loving care they provided. A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2011 at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden.
