Elaine Stevens Wilcox passed away on April 20, 2026, at the age of 93. She has completed her earthly mission and our loving Father in Heaven has called her home.
She was born on April 4, 1933, in Ogden, Utah to Frank Joseph and Ardella Hokanson Stevens. She was the youngest of 4 children. She was raised in Ogden, Utah and attended Ogden City Schools. She graduated from Ogden High School in 1951. She attended Brigham Young University where she met her loving husband.
On June 6, 1953, she married Vern DeVere (Dee) Wilcox. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on November 11, 1956.
Elaine was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was humble and will be remembered most for her generous heart. She was more often, than not, a woman of few words, quietly and proudly enjoying her family. But perhaps her greatest example was helping others.
She enjoyed attending her children’s and grandchildren’s school events, church and sports activities. Her hobbies included sewing and tole painting. She always made beautiful craft items for her family and friends.
As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, she served in several callings including visiting teacher, counselor in the Relief Society and Young Women’s Organizations. But her favorite calling was President of Ward Primary and President of Stake Primary Organizations for many years.
Her family was the light of her life and she left them with a legacy of love, devotion, service and an unwavering testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
She is survived by her five children, Mitch (Jerri) Wilcox, Ogden, UT, Holly (Mark) Allen, Washington Terrace, UT, Nancy (Steve) Baker, Centerville, UT, Heidi Higham, Layton, UT, Shelley Winger Roberts, West Haven, UT, 20 grandchildren, and 57 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband Dee. Her brother, Wayne Stevens, Sisters Marion Schade and Norma Coggins. Her grandson, Noah Baker and son-in-laws Mark Winger and Ron Higham.
A small viewing will be held on Monday, April 27th at 10:00 a.m. located at Leavitt’s Mortuary & Aultorest Memorial Park, 836 36th Street, Ogden. A graveside service at Leavitt’s Aultorest Memorial Park will follow.
