Elizabeth Rae (Betty) Crandall 9/30/1922 - 4/24/2014 Elizabeth Rae (Betty) Foster Crandall, of Ogden, Utah, died peacefully on April 24, 2014. She is survived by her beloved husband Ralph Garner Crandall of 70 years and children Jeff (Susan) Crandall of Menan, Idaho, Scott (Jackie) Crandall of Clearfield, Utah and Becky (Dexter) Bell of Centerville, Utah, 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, and sister Arlene Hailstone of Idaho Falls, Idaho. She was preceded in death by one grandson. Betty was born in Glendale, California on September 30, 1922 to Raymond Andrew and Emma Ardella Foster, the second of four girls. She grew up in Riverside, California and met her husband who was stationed in California as a Navy pilot during World War II. They were married in the Salt Lake L.D.S. Temple December 29, 1943. An active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Betty served in many callings. Betty was a loving wife, always concerned about the comfort of her husband. She was a fun, energetic, caring mother. Betty had a love of learning. She enjoyed reading and studying in depth, especially about gospel topics. Crafting was her hobby, including knitting, counted cross-stitching and home remodeling. We will miss our wife, mother and grandmother, but we are comforted in the knowledge that she will be welcomed by her family as she passes to the next life. Mom, until we meet again, we love you. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 30, 2014 at the Ogden, Utah Orchard Park Ward Chapel, 3270 Orchard Avenue. Friends may greet the family from 9:45 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment will be in the Ogden City Cemetery.
