Our family has lost its rock. She passed away peacefully in her own home on Sunday night November 9, 2014. She was my best friend, my mother, sister, aunt, cousin, and a friend to so many but most of all- she was a grandma and great grandma to everyone-family, friends, neighbors. She loved not only her kids and grandkids but everyones kids, grandkids, dogs and cats. She was born to W. Claude McMillen and Dona B. Sawdey. She had a darling twin brother W. Claude McMillen II. They grew up in Colorado, and then moved to Utah. She went to Ogden High, Weber State, Colorado University, and then did an internship at Fitzimmons CO- Army Hospital where she met my dad. She met my dad Clifford Dee Hill, married and had myself-Christine and Carey D Hill. They moved from Colorado to Texas then moved to Roy, Utah. They soon divorced. My mom was single for about 13 years until her best friends Alda and Red Wheeler introduced her to her true love Donald L. Durrant. They married under my grandparents apple tree. They were married till he passed. My mom worked at Ogden Clinic for 35 years with her dear friend Shirley Nichols. After she retired she stayed in touch with Ogden Clinic old timers having summer picnics and Christmas luncheons every year. She and Don were members of the Roy Elks and Ogden Eagles for many years. She was my favorite golf partner and my favorite cheerleader. She was a beautiful skier. She and her dear friend Rose Flygar skied every Thursday. She played softball till she was 50. She golfed once a week with me until ten days before she passed. She will be truly missed by so many people and for that I am so honored to be her daughter. She is survived by her twin brother W. Claude (Kathy) McMillen, kids; Chris (Alan) Thompson, Carey (Julie) Hill, Linda (Bill) Parsons, Dave (Marylou) Wheeler and Sandra (Dale) Tuck; at least nine grandkids and 14 great grandkids. Its impossible to put a number on these because your kids, grandkids, nieces and nephews were like her own. She is preceded in death by Dona and Claude McMillen, Clifford D. Hill, Cameron Hill and Don Durrant. In lieu of flowers please make donations to the Humane Society or your favorite charity. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, November 15th at Leavitts Mortuary 836-36th St. Ogden, UT. There will be a viewing held from 6:00-8:00 pm Friday at Leavitts Mortuary and one hour prior to service from 10:00-10:45 am.
