Ella Martin Reeder, Age 97, passed away on July 1, 2017. She was born on February 6, 1920 to David Colon Lindsay and Lottie Jane Ferrin Lindsay in Eden, Utah. Her mother died when she was 2 years old and her dad married Vivian Cheney when she was 6 years old.
She graduated from Weber High School and LDS Seminary in 1938.
Ella Married Keith H. Martin in 1939; they were later sealed in the Ogden Temple. To this union came six daughters. They moved to Washington Terrace in 1946.
She was always active and held many position in the LDS Church. She had a love for music. She taught herself to play the piano and organ. She served as a ward Chorister for many years.
Keith died in 1973. She later married Dee J. Lythgoe, then Jim Burnett before her marriage to Norman Reeder. They were married on September 11, 1998. She and Norman took charge over the dancing at the Golden Hours Center in Ogden for 8 years. There were avid temple goers, at least 2-3 times a week. She loved to crochet and quilt. Many of us have quilts with temple designs on them.
She loved her children and grand children and each one of them knew that they were special to her.
She is survived by her children Annette Lucas (Bill), Suzan, Jenkins (Rick), Bonnie Russell (Joe), Emma Waltson (Ron), Allen K. Downs (son-in-law). Normans children are David (Beth), Kathee Corry (Larry), Dan (Kaye), Deanne Krey (Bob), Norma Nomura (Dan), Colleen Baker (Bill): Also surviving are children from her fathers second marriage to Vivian Cheney Lindsay, they are David S. , Dean, Trilba, DeAnna, and Beulah (deceased).
Ella was preceded in death by her parents, step-mother, brother John, sisters Ina and Lydia and her children, Beth and Patsy Downs (Allen)
May it be said of her that she had a sweet spirit and understanding heart, never speaking ill of anyone.
