Elvira (Vera) Rose Martinez, 87, passed away January 20, 2015. She was born April 1, 1927 to Julian and Ferminia Pacheco in Del Norte, Colorado. She married Floyd Martinez February 13, 1954 in Ogden, Utah. Vera was a homemaker and an avid gardener. She loved to cook and make her famous chili verde and homemade tortillas. Vera enjoyed many fun trips to Wendover. She enjoyed dancing to Spanish music. Vera also enjoyed the company of her grandchildren. She was the favorite aunt to all her nieces and nephews. She was a member of the Catholic Church. Vera is survived by her daughters; Debra (Juan) Gutierrez, Patricia (Manuel) Martinez and two brothers Moises Pacheco, Walter Pacheco, eight grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Vera is preceded in death by her husband Floyd, her parents, seven sisters; Teodora, Andrea, Fidelia, Josephine, Susan, Mary (Lupe), Ruth and two brothers Dennis and Tobias. Holy Rosary will be Sunday, January 25, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 pm at Leavitts Mortuary 836-36th Street Ogden, UT. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Monday, January 26, 2015 at Glory to God Catholic Church 375 Harrison Blvd. Ogden, UT 84401. Lunch will be served following the services at the Church. Interment at Leavitts Aultorest Memorial Park.
