Ernest Della Perkins was born in New Albany, Indiana on October 26, 1939. Ernie was a career naval officer so he lived in many places throughout his career. He and his wife, Jeanne, moved to Utah in 1995 to be with family. Ernie was a 1962 graduate of the United States Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland. After graduation, he was accepted for flight training. He loved flying and couldnt believe he got paid to do it. He retired from the Navy after twenty-two years and went on to a career with General Dynamics. Ernie died of cancer and leaves behind his wife, Jeanne; a daughter, Jennifer Leaverton; a son, John Perkins; three grandchildren; as well as two great-granddaughters. Our lives were all enriched by him and he will be missed by numerous friends and family. A Memorial Service celebrating Ernies life will be officiated by Reverend Shelley Page on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at 1:00 pm at the Unitarian Universalist Church of Ogden at 705 23rd Street.
